Ashley's Clinic & The Caiola Family Clinic
We, Susan and John Hoefling, opened Ashley’s Clinic in 2018 in memory of our daughter, Ashley, to turn our love for her into healing for others. Sierra Leone holds a special place in Susan’s heart, as she spent many of her childhood years there. For over eight years, we have been honored to bring essential healthcare to students and teachers, carrying Ashley’s memory forward through compassion, connection, and the belief that every life matters.
Help us keep telling Ashley's Clinic and The Caiola Family Clinic's story! We're sending a videographer to Sierra Leone to document the clinic's impact and create footage that can help us reach more supporters. Please donate for that by opening this link. Thank you so much!!!
In rural Sierra Leone more than 70% of students are not able to access healthcare when needed. Ashley’s Project and The Caiola Family Clinic brings healing to our students and staff. Having onsite access to supportive clinic care is a beautiful component of our students' inner and outer development. Some of the most pervasive illnesses plaguing the youth in Sierra Leone are malaria, typhoid, diarrheal diseases and respiratory diseases. Students at Muddy Lotus Primary School and Yengema Secondary School are now able to receive basic health services for common sicknesses that prevent them from being healthy enough to learn. Since its opening in 2018, Ashley's Clinic has served students, and teachers at Muddy Lotus Primary School, and has treated over 3000 cases of malaria. Ashley's Clinic is a powerful, effective solution!
In 2025, we opened The Caiola Family Clinic at Yengema Secondary School, serving 1100 students and 55 academic staff annually. Your support allows this gift to keep expanding. We invite you to join us in creating a school of wellbeing.
