Bob Egan Memorial Fund
On August 5th of last year, our dear friend and colleague Bob Egan passed away. Since that time, several friends and colleagues have inquired about the possibility of honoring Bob’s legacy with a gift to the Foundation. Having heard these requests, Illinois Children’s Healthcare Foundation (ILCHF) is honored to launch the Bob Egan Memorial Fund.
This memorial fund launched in August 2025, marking the one-year anniversary of Bob’s passing, and will remain open through December 28, 2025, Bob’s birthday. During this time, ILCHF will gratefully accept donations in Bob’s memory. All contributions to the Bob Egan Memorial Fund will support initiatives that were especially close to Bob’s heart—oral health, nutrition, and workforce development programs benefiting children and families across the state of Illinois.
Bob joined ILCHF in 2004 as one of the Foundation’s earliest team members. For more than 20 years, he led the Foundation’s oral health initiatives and most recently served as Director of Oral Health & Other Initiatives. His leadership and vision left a lasting impact on communities across Illinois, transformed how oral health services are delivered to children and families, and helped bring statewide attention to the importance of access, equity, and community-based solutions.
Bob was more than a colleague, he was a mentor, a leader, and a true friend. His absence is deeply felt, but his spirit continues to guide our work and inspire our commitment to ensuring that every child in Illinois grows up healthy.
If you would like to honor Bob’s legacy and support the work he cared so deeply about, we invite you to learn more about the Bob Egan Memorial Fund and/or make a gift in his memory here or by mailing a check directly to:
