THE MISSION This is a revolutionary program that helps kids to strategize solutions to the issues that matter to them. Through their own student-led Service-Learning Projects, they will see themselves as part of the solution as they actively participate in making their own world a better place.
Global citizenship is an essential component to education in the 21st century. GNGP Schools inspires young learners to understand that local problems are global problems –– and equips them to take meaningful action.
Through their own student-led Service-Learning Projects, students strategize solutions to issues they care about, developing the values, attitudes, and behaviors necessary to create a more peaceful and sustainable world.
THE PROGRAM Thanks to a LOR Foundation grant, the GNGP Schools program was successfully piloted in three Taos, NM schools in the 2022-2023 academic year. Since then, it has expanded to other schools, delivering measurable results and creating lasting impact.
- From just 2022 thru 2024, over 120 students had participated in GNGP Schools.
- Of these students, two full-class Service-Learning Projects were completed; one of which involved multiple other grades within the school.
- Sixteen separate Service-Learning Projects were completed by smaller groups within the other classes.
