Support The Broadway Women's Alliance
Dedicated to fostering community and supporting women, The Broadway Women’s Alliance is a peer-to-peer networking and programming organization for women professionals on the business side of Broadway. Through a series of programming ranging from community gatherings to career development, symposiums with Broadway thought leaders and leaders outside of theater with expertise in coaching, financial planning, wellness, activism, the core of this group lies in the benefits of connection, support, and empowerment we can provide each other.
Our members are business leaders, owners, and employees representing a wide range of theatrical professions including marketers, general and company managers, theater owners, producers, press agents, casting directors, lawyers, company managers, and many more. Our initiatives include:
- Mentorship program and curriculum in partnership with CreateHER, a career training program for high school students who identify as girls and non-binary, where they learn how to be playwrights and producers from the top women working in the field, lead by BWA members
- “You Should Know Her”: a content and programming series spotlighting the women behind-the-scenes who make Broadway happen
- Ongoing and upcoming partnerships with women-led and BIPOC organizations across the arts, including WOCA (Women of Color in the Arts), Maestra, Open Stage Project, TPOC (Theater Producers of Color), Disney on Broadway’s Women of Broadway, Business of Broadway, and more
- Development of affinity groups and resources including a BWA moms’ group and diversity resources available through the BWA website
- Continuous connection and personal enrichment through curated community conversations, in person and virtually, a Slack channel, social media content and community management, and member-led groups including the official BWA Book Club
- A digital collection of stories and content from the COVID-19 pandemic as told by our members, set to debut in January 2022
Membership is free and to keep our programming and initiatives going and growing we rely on donations from people like you!
