We want to raise one year of support to fund the SAF Mentorship Program which provides youth with access to cultural enrichment opportunities as well as guidance and support from highly-trained SAF Artist Facilitators and guest industry professionals.

Spirit Awakening Foundation

Spirit Awakening Foundation is a nonprofit dedicated to helping underserved, disadvantaged and incarcerated youth and children in the juvenile justice system realize their spiritual identity. We have spent the past 24 years teaching the unheard the power of positive and productive expression through creative writing, visual arts, improvisation, mentorship, and meditation. 

As 2019 commemorates the 400 year remembrance of the Atlantic Slave Trade, SAF's annual performance fundraiser, 

, will feature spoken word and theatrical performance, as well as the writings of incarcerated and underserved children and young adults in the Los Angeles County juvenile justice system. If you're unable to join us, but would like to support our work, please consider donating to change the lives of youth in Los Angeles.

All proceeds and donations raised from this fundraiser event go towards supporting the arts-based programming, mentorship, career counseling, and financial aid services SAF provides for some of the most vulnerable, underserved and neglected youth in LA County.
