Sphs - (Sos) save Our Ship!
Reaching our goal of $50 will go a long way in the return of our whaleboat to home and save her from being destroyed by the forces of nature and neglect! In return, you will be welcomed to any and all after-parties for the rest of the season!
Friends, we at the SPHS have an old problem that has come back to haunt out attempts at the expansion of our programming. No, not the dreaded pandemic, although it certainly is NOT helping. I am talking about DRY ROT.
See, if things had stayed the same we would be well on our way to filing grants, sponsors, investors, fundraising to get our whaleboat down here from Massachusetts. Then the pandemic hit. So, wet weather (freshwater) is not a friend to wood boats, nor is dry land.
We cannot exactly take care of our vessel when she is 300 miles away. November we bought a used trailer to fix so we can get up to Middleborough, Mass. and bring her home to PA. We have been attempting serious fundraising with little to no progress.
So we need help. We wither succeed with this, or we fail and lose another vessel to the elements.
Option 1: We raise funds to fix the trailer, drive up, get the boat on the trailer from the ground (which could prove interesting), bring the boat home, and patch her up to stop the rot from continuing giving us time to work on her refit.
Option 2: We raise the funds to have someone pick her up with a wrecker, drive her to us, unload her, and patch her up to stop the rot from continuing giving us time to work on her refit.
Either way, we need your help to do this. PLEASE GIVE GENEROUSLY.
Once back and things reopen we will throw an unveiling celebration (or two, or more) in which ALL DONORS, INVESTORS, SPONSORS, and VOLUNTEERS will be able to take photo's on, in, and around the whaler. In essence, help us out, give to our cause, and we'll throw one big party like it's 1776!
