Reaching our goal of $4,000 can provide fresh produce for up to 10 families facing food insecurity for the entire growing season in 2021!
VICTORY:
During the pandemic crisis in 2020, Crop & Kettle teamed up with regional partner, Riverwise, to develop the "Victory Garden": a 3,500sqft mini-farm in Aliquippa, PA.
Produce from the garden provided food for dozens of families facing food insecurity. Each week a supply of fresh, seasonal veggies was harvested, cleaned, packaged, and distributed to families who would not otherwise have access to local, organically grown produce. (Did you know that SNAP/EBT benefits ("food stamps") often cannot be used to purchase local produce??!)
DOUBLED:
The project was largely funded through emergency relief grants during 2020, but as we look forward to 2021 we are turning to the surrounding community to support this on-going initiative through this CSA-Sponsorship Program, (Community Supported Agriculture)
With your help, we are excited to double the Victory Garden output from 2020! Together, we will continue to improve food access in the community and supply our food insecure neighbors with bountiful produce throughout the entire growing season!
