Raise Uganda Now

On March 18th, the President of Uganda, Yoweri Museveni, declared a national emergency in response to COVID-19. Therefore, the use of privately-owned vehicles has been banned save except for purchasing essential goods, and social distancing measures are being enforced. No groups larger than 10 people are permitted to gather.

Uganda lacks access to protective gear, resources and infrastructure required to combat this disease. Therefore, it is mandatory for such preventative measures to be made from now as the physical and economic burdens are projected to be much worse than that of other impacted countries.

As of April 6th, there are 52 confirmed cases in Uganda, and 10,000 cases in Africa. It is projected by World Health Organization officials that the virus will spread rapidly.

Now more than ever, RUN’s core mission is to ensure the safety, health and wellbeing of our 51 children. Like the rest of the world, we are equipping our staff and kids with all essential goods, including food (mostly nonperishable), water, masks, disposable gloves, hand sanitizers, cleaning agents, and other provisions. But as prices continue to rise with the demand for these products, we need your help to safeguard our efforts.
