At the House of David Milford, DE, we’re big fans of Giving Tuesday. This “global generosity movement,” started in 2012 as a day for doing good, occurs the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. This year, that’s November 29. It’s a day to flex those generosity muscles and support your favorite nonprofits or charities. Think of Giving Tuesday like an extension of that moment when everyone around the Thanksgiving table shares what they’re grateful for — a day for not only counting blessings, but also passing them on to others in need. Reaching our goal of $500 will allow us to make the final grocery run to create and distribute meals for families in this community.

Reaching our goal of $1,000 will allow us to acquire the necessary equipment, for the reception area to serve families and recipients.

Reaching our goal of $5,000 will allow us to acquire necessary equipment, complete space renovations, fully stock the pantry, and finish the reception area for recipients.

Reaching our goal of $7,500 will allow us to acquire an industrial floor scale for weighing food boxes, complete food storage space renovations, fully stock the food pantry, finish the reception area for recipients, and cover 2 months of operational costs

Since 2020, House of David Milford DE Inc LLC has been a beacon of hope in the Greater Milford, Delaware region, passionately combating hunger and poverty with unwavering dedication. Born from a deep-rooted response to the Covid-19 crisis, we launched a dynamic program on August 1, 2020, that now nourishes thousands of lives every year. Our doors are open every Thursday from 9 to 11 AM for walk-in food pickups, ensuring no one in our community faces hunger alone. For those in urgent need, emergency food distribution is readily available – just a call away at (302) 470-1450.

But our mission goes beyond feeding the hungry. We proudly extend our helping hand through a diverse range of services. Our Clothing Closet offers a variety of apparel, ensuring dignity and warmth for all ages. Families can also benefit from our Baby Depot, which provides essential items like baby pampers and wipes, catering to the tender needs of the youngest in our community. Furthermore, we understand the heavy burden of financial crises; hence, we offer emergency assistance with overdue rent and utility bills, subject to available funds.

Our commitment to this cause is reflected in the stark reality that over 47% of children in the Milford School District live below the poverty line.
