Initial Response | Status of Operations
Since early March, IWS's main priority has been to do everything we can to sustain programming and community connections to our warriors and their families... while keeping our team safe. We have worked closely with CDC, The Georgia Department of Public Health, The Fulton DeKalb Hospital Authority, The Gathering Spot, and the Community. We kept our doors open to the public until May 1st where we transitioned 90% virtually. 10% remains active in the community, delivering food and care packages contactless to families in need as well as PPE to reduce the spread of Covid-19. We were then informed that all grants and events were on hold!
With limited resources, we provided internet assistance for the youth in need of support with the emergency online school spring transition as well as assisted with economic direct support with emergency disconnection notices from various utility companies to ensure families impacted with breast cancer have running water, lights on, A/C running for the hot summer days, and gas in vehicles to make critical doctor appointments.
We have begun virtual educational health training to ensure families are increasing physical fitness, gaining proper nutrition, and staying mentally and financially healthy for families who have not lost gainful employment. Our goal is to reduce generational poverty, reduce mortality and recurrence rates of breast cancer. Short term goals include assisting families who are entrepreneurs by marketing their businesses via our large social media platform in addition to ensuring no family becomes homeless while battling breast cancer.
STAY CONNECTED WITH US and share to support our programs today! We are looking for 1,000 people to donate $10 a month for 10 months to help provide direct support to families right away in need! Help us celebrate our 10 Year Anniversary this year by making an impact with us.
