Moving Arts Academy of Dance opened in May of 2016, providing a nurturing environment for students to excel technically and artistically, offering affordable, high quality dance programming options for children and young adults. Over the past four years, we have grown to a program offering classes to 60+ students weekly, and a space for professional artists to rehearse and create new work, in the 94112 neighborhood of San Francisco.

We take great pride in what we’ve achieved in developing hundreds of students, and seeing them progress with us over the years. These are accomplishments that have repeatedly distinguished us among the top 10% of dance schools in the Bay Area. But, nothing gives us more pride than the over 40 scholarships we’ve offered to date, ensuring that kids in our community who demonstrate need and commitment to learning will find the opportunity to develop their skills regardless of financial means.

Moving Arts remains committed to providing our classes online while also providing in-person classes with strict health and safety guidelines. We are constantly inspired by the dedication of our students, and the enthusiasm of our community for the important service we provide.

However, like so many others in the face of this pandemic, we are now in a tough spot as we are finding it difficult to continue to operate. Enrollments have dropped significantly, and the truth is, if we are to survive — and if San Francisco is to retain this offering as part of the fabric of its community — we’re going to need a little help.
