Giving Tree
Many of us are not able to go shopping or are limiting our exposure by going to the store. You may opt to contribute financially in lieu of purchasing a gift. This fund will go towards purchasing gifts on family and children's wishlists.
A gift request has been entered by the caregiver, social worker, or group home leader on behalf of the child. Each member of your congregation has the opportunity to purchase a gift requested by a foster, adopted, transitional, or at-risk youth. The gift will then be returned to your church where a team of volunteers will check-in and sort the gifts into the requested family bag. The requesting caregiver, social worker, or group home leader will then come and pick up the gifts they have requested to distribute on Christmas morning.
During the holiday season, Help One Child partners with churches and organizations throughout the Bay Area to bring the joy of Christmas to children impacted by the foster care system. Holidays are filled with joy, traditions, gift-giving, and family, but for children and families that have been impacted by the foster care system, that may not be the case. Many of these families experience additional stress and sadness during this season as they navigate what has been lost. We partner with local churches to bring awareness and compassion to the foster, adoptive and at-risk communities and to work together to love on children and families who otherwise may not have anything on Christmas morning.
