As We Shelter Together
By reaching our goal of $7,000, our team will be able to supply our community with 350 Hygiene Kits, filled with necessary items such as soap, a water bucket, and hand sanitizer to keep them safe during the time of COVID-19.
To Our Community
We as a collective are experiencing something truly unique in its uncertainty and impact. We thank you for standing together with us as we see our way through this together. Our hearts are with you.
Updates on Kono
The number of confirmed cases, recoveries, and deaths due to COVID-19 have continued to rise steadily in Sierra Leone. Over 1670 cases have been confirmed since the onset of the pandemic, with over 60 cases being reported in Kono. 1200 people have recovered and over 64 have deaths have been reported. Social distancing and necessary safety precautions are strongly encouraged as the country slowly re-opens and inter-district travel is permitted.
With this, just as it has elsewhere, many jobs have been impacted and people are looking to find work. Shine On Sierra Leone is committed to continuing the payment of staff salaries during this time to support our team on the ground. Additionally, we will be employing a team of Community Mobilizers to assist in the distribution of our COVID-19 response kits.
Our Line Of Response - Wellness
Soap, hand sanitizer, and a bucket for water - these are some of the essential items to keeping community members safe and healthy during this pandemic. Each Hygiene kit will contain all of these three items and will help impact the wellness of up to 350 homes.
Every dollar truly makes a difference. Thank you for joining our movement.
All funds will go towards our COVID-19 response and operating expenses necessary to keep our doors open.
