Fund a New Clean Water Well
$1,500 will lay the groundwork for designing a new water well. It will enable our technical team to conduct the hydrogeological surveying necessary for sustainability, collect baseline data on impact statistics, and purchase necessary permits.
Globally, more than 2 billion people lack access to clean water, (WHO). This severely inhibits individuals, families, and entire communities from leading healthy lives. And, it stifles development. Without clean water, education cannot thrive, gender inequality grows, and economic activity becomes stagnant. In Sub-Saharan Africa, specifically, 40% of the 783 million people who live there are without access to an improved source of drinking water, (United Nations).
Through our technical expertise and community-driven approach, we have provided lasting clean water to more than a quarter of a million people across 65 projects in East Africa to date. And, all of our projects are 100% successful, compared with the average industry success rate of only 40%.
Will you join us in transforming lives through clean water?
________
Implementing a new, deep water well is an expensive and complex process. But, it yields incredible results for communities! This fundraiser will enable us to fund an additional water well for a community in need of clean water. And, it sheds a light on where your money is going at each stage of the process.
$1,500 - The first $1,500 will lay the groundwork for the water well project plan. It will enable our technical team to conduct hydrogeological surveying necessary for sustainability, collect baseline data on impact statistics, and purchase necessary permits. This initial planning and data collection stage is essential for project design and the overall success of the water system.
$6,500 - Reaching $6,500 will enable us to purchase tanks and the structures necessary to ensure sufficient water storage after the well is complete. Water storage is a core component of any water project.
$19,000 - Reaching $19,000 will enable us to purchase the solar pump and solar panels necessary to power the well and pull water from the deep aquifer underground. Solar power is the most low-cost, sustainable, and feasible option for most of our partner communities.
$37,000 - Reaching $37,000 will allow us to purchase the equipment and services necessary to drill the deep water well; usually ranging from 75 meters to over 250 meters in depth.
$42,000 - Once the well is up and running with the solar pump and water storage structures, reaching $42,000 will enable us to purchase the kiosk, pipeline equipment and services to distribute water to various points within a community. Often, these access points include schools, clinics, and other common areas. This stage will complete the water well, allowing clean water to flow abundantly!
