Spring Campaign

Thank you for your support of Cat Rescue & Adoption Network’s (CRAN’s) work to help cats in Lane County. Thank you for caring about cats that need help. That need surgery to stop having kittens. That need food. Or vaccines. Or medical care. Or help to find a new home. Thank you for giving to help them have better, longer, healthier and happier lives. In 2023, thanks to your support, CRAN:
🐾 Cared for 822 cats and kittens
🐾 Found loving homes for 543 cats and kittens
🐾 Spayed/Neutered 623 cats including 269 community cats
🐾 Responded to 726 requests for help (by either taking the cat into our program, providing resources to help the owner keep the cat, assist with TNR, or referring to other places etc.)
We are writing to ask for your help. We have had two very generous donors who have each pledged to match up to $5,000 in donations for our Spring Campaign! That means that $10,000 in donations will become $20,000! That would make such a difference for the cats! Can you help us meet the match?
This year CRAN has already taken on some teeny tiny tiniest kittens, as well as also caring for older, cast-off cats of our community. In just one week in late April, we accepted 28 urgent surrenders, including 2 sweet adult cats whose owner died unexpectedly, a friendly female kitty who promptly gave birth to 7 kittens, a feral mama with 3 tiny babies, 2 different batches of kittens discovered at construction sites, and more.
Cats come into our care due to many reasons: illness or death in their family, financial hardship, leading to an uprooted family, the surprise of kittens born under a deck. There is Blossom and her 7 newborn kittens, Beeley, who came from a large colony, and had to have a leg amputated, several broken teeth extracted and his abdominal wall repaired most likely due to being hit by a car and Patrick, a sweet senior kitty who lost his home when his dad was no longer able to provide care for him.
We would not be able to help the cats like Patrick or Beeley or Blossom and her kittens without you.
Whatever brings them to CRAN, once they are in our care, they are fed, sheltered, nurtured and receive medical care including spay or neuter surgery and vaccinations. Those that have injuries are tended to and those with illnesses receive appropriate treatment (medical costs were over $275,000 in 2023) thanks to the vet clinics that partner with CRAN, our generous supporters like you and caring volunteers.
With the support of our CRAN community, we are able to care for these cats until their adoptive family takes them home. CRAN is a foster-based, all-volunteer organization. We receive no tax dollars from Eugene, Springfield or Lane County; we are dependent on our donors, our partners, and our CRAN volunteers to help the cats and kittens in our care. We need your help now more than ever.
This spring, we are hopeful that you, our extended CRAN family, will support our continuing work to help cats in the Eugene-Springfield-Lane County area by making a donation today and helping us to reach the $10,000 in matching donations.
Thank you so much, on behalf of the CRAN kitties of 2024. We could not help them without you.
Sincerely,
Louanne Koch
