NO SHAVE NOVEMBER for Retired Officer George Stone
Every dollar helps!
Help Officer Stone Hit it out of the Park!
The Spring Garden Township Police Department is once again participating in No-Shave November. This year, in honor of retired police officer George Stone, we will be raising donations and awareness for the Kidney Foundation of Central PA.
Retired Officer Stone and his fellow officers are engaging in a friendly competition so donate early and often!
George retired from the Spring Garden Township Police Department in February 2022, after 30 years in law enforcement.
George was diagnosed with End Stage Renal Disease on June 1, 2023, and is in need of a kidney transplant.
Your contribution will help the Kidney Foundation of Central Pennsylvania and will help people just like George get the care that they so desperately need. Thank you for your support!
George’s Story:
After retiring in February 2022, I was ready to start the next chapter of my life. I had 2 goals that summer: build my landscaping business and spend a lot of time with my family at the beach.
In May 2023, I got really sick with COVID-like symptoms, never fully recovering. On June 1st my wife took me to the doctor and upon their recommendation I went to the emergency room. I spent 5 days in the cardiac ICU and was informed that if I would have waited 24 more hours I would have died. I had a large amount of fluid in my lungs and around my heart. I was told that my kidneys are only functioning at 5% of their capacity and are failing.
I am currently receiving dialysis treatments and hope to be put on the kidney transplant registry at several medical facilities in the coming months.
