Sponsoring a Mentor Match

What a cool way to experience mentoring, even if you can't participate yourself! By donating $50 per month, you will help us support a young person and their mentor while they're a part of our FORGE Youth Mentoring Program.

Your donation covers many things that ensure growth and impact, including:

Recruiting - Getting mentors for kids in need takes time and many presentations. You can help us locate the right mentors for the kids on our waiting list.
Screening - It's vital that we properly screen both young person and potential mentor to ensure that we have a committed and safe setting. Mentees and their parent/guardian(s) are interviewed to confirm interest and commitment. Mentors complete an application, provide four references, are interviewed in their home, and then complete a national background check process.
Trainings - Parents and youth are given guidelines and agree to adhere to program standards and goals. Mentors also go through five hours of pre-match training to help them feel equipped and to support their mentee most effectively.
Match Support - Our Match Support Coaches contact the parent, mentee, and mentor monthly offering encouragement, ideas, resources, and accountability. This is vital for optimum health and safety of the match.
Match resources - each match receives activity books to help them get to know each other, give them activity ideas, help the mentor provide growth activities, and more. We also provide additional tools throughout the year to encourage and empower the match.
