Welcome to the 2026/2027 Match for Minmahaw! This year is extra special. As we welcome a new class of students, we're also celebrating 20 years of Minmahaw School.
For twenty years, Minmahaw has been more than a school. It's been a home away from home, a place where young people from Myanmar discover who they are, build lifelong friendships that become family, and begin believing that their dreams really can come true.
This May, our second year at the new school, our campus came alive once again with new faces, joyous laughter, and new beginnings. Fifty-five students from refugee camps, migrant communities, and conflict-affected areas of Myanmar arrived with different stories and one shared goal: to learn, to grow, and to create a better future for themselves and for their communities.

In 20 years, more than 880 students from Burma have called Minmahaw home.
Today, our alumni are studying and working across Asia, Europe, Australia, Canada, and the U.S. They have become teachers, nurses, engineers, artists, business professionals, and community leaders. Many are giving back to their own communities, and some have even returned to Minmahaw to teach the next generation of students. Seeing that full circle and working to enrich the current year's students experience, reminds us why this school exists.

Minmahaw School has grown through a community of dedicated students, teachers, volunteers, alumni, partners, and supporters who believe that education changes lives. Together, we've helped create a school that prepares students for further study, and also to become kind, confident, and compassionate leaders.As we celebrate this milestone, we’re looking back at how far we’ve come, and also forward to what this year's students will do next. Their stories are just starting, and we’re excited to see where they go. Your support helps provide safe housing, healthy meals, inspiring teachers, and opportunities that open doors far beyond our classrooms. Every donation makes a difference! $10 donation becomes $20 and you supply necessary rice for two days for 55 students! A bargain and a precious gift to keep students nourished.
Become a monthly donor! It's easy and during the Match, $25 is matched (becomes $50) each month the campaign continues. When the Match is complete, your monthly donations help keep Minmahaw moving forward.
$100 donation becomes $200 and you contribute to meals, books for students, computers for students, and sometimes even a soccer ball for that much needed physical education.
Matched, your generous donation becomes $500 and will help keep lights on, water flowing and WiFi connectivity. These are all necessary elements to provide a sound, safe and modern education for 55 students.
Your $500 contribution become $1,000 and will help pay stipends to teachers from Burma, who have been firstly educated at Minmahaw School, then at University and have returned to teach the next generation of young people from Burma.
