Hope House Detroit: 2021 Expanded Impact Campaign

Hope House Detroit has an unprecedented opportunity to expand our impact by multiplying the number of kids with whom we interact on a daily basis. Hope House consists of 2 community centers for kids and a hospitality house for visiting groups. These 3 homes on the east side of Detroit, in addition to our partnership with our local Detroit Public School, afford us the privilege of interacting with more than 100 kids on a regular basis. Through a variety of weekly programs, we are able to move into mentoring and tutoring relationships, coming to share individual and family needs and joys.

In 2022 we see the opportunity for Expanded Impact through 3 initiatives.

Expanded Network: we have been offered a community room inside Carstens Academy. By creating an inviting space for kids and adults alike, Hope House staff will be in a position to multiply the number of kids with whom we interact. Cooperating with school advisors, inside the school, expands our network for engaging with kids, families, school personnel, and other community partners.

Expanded Space: by adding an egress window and a comfy, gathering space in 2 of our community centers, we can double our meeting areas. We can then accommodate more socially distanced children and volunteers.

Expanded Programming: in 2022 we plan to launch our enhanced job training program for teens. In collaboration with our community development partner, we will expand the number of youth and the length of the on-the-job mentoring. This soft launch will open the doors for expanded involvement with teens in our Detroit neighborhood.

Hope House Detroit reserves the right to reallocate funds raised by the program on a discretionary basis to meet child participants' immediate needs. Once this program has been fulfilled these funds may be redirected for use in the general fund.
