At Play Marin, we don't just "watch" kids during the summer; we execute a high-level summer operation. In a powerful collaboration with The Hannah Project and the Marin City Community Services District, we provide a 40-day gauntlet of discovery for 150 youth (grades 3rd–8th).
Providing an elite experience in one of the most expensive counties in the country requires a significant investment. Our $75,000 Fund-A-Need goal allows us to manage the true costs of a holistic summer program:
- Planning and administering a safe, centralized facility where our campers meet, learn, and create every day.
- Professional charter buses at $1,000+ per trip for our legendary Friday Fun Days.
- Each invoice exceeding $7,700 for specialized sport rotations like surfing and kayaking.
- Providing the bikes, boards, books, and balls for every single rotation.
Running a program of this caliber for 150 youth (grades 3rd–8th) requires serious infrastructure. Our Friday Fun-Days are legendary, but the costs are real: a single sport rotation like surfing carries a vendor invoice of over $7,700, and a single charter bus exceeds $1,000 per trip.
We fill our Monday–Thursday schedule with high-energy rotations. While our campers are closing the literacy gap and finding their voices through Reading, Poetry, and Theater, we are also hitting the ground running with:
- The Water: Surfing, Sailing, Kayaking, and Swimming.
- The Land: Mountain Biking, Tennis, Basketball, Pickleball, Lacrosse, Soccer, and Softball.
- The Studio: Photography, Music, Art, Chess, Dancing, and Tinkering.
