National Network for Justice

The National Network of Justice is a membership-led organization established to support and strengthen the work of state-based organizations including crime survivors, formerly incarcerated leaders, as well as, youth, immigration, public health and reentry service organizations seeking to  reduce jail, prison, and detention populations safely and permanently.

 overcame an abusive childhood, is now a lawyer and founder of 

. NNJ supported HRFK by providing funds for his organization to hire a consultant to assist with their strategic plan.                                                                                                    

 was incarcerated while pregnant. While shackled, she fell and miscarried and was traumatized when guards disposed of her child in the garbage. Her organization 

has led efforts supporting state and federal legislation against shackling pregnant women. We supported her attendance at our Mississippi Strategies Exchange enabling her to meet Marissa Alexander, who was sentenced to 20 years in prison in Florida soon after giving birth for firing a warning shot at her husband.                                                            

, a home for women returning from prison. NNJ also provided a stipend for Pauline to attend the Safe Housing Replication Model Training hosted by 

. NNJ also designed and purchased holiday cards and postage so Pauline could send holiday cards to prisoners in Mississippi. Recently Pauline received Mississippi’s 2021 Remarkable Women Award.
