José Gonzalez, Mayor of Cudahy
Raised
FOUNDING MEMBER SINCE 2019: Bridging City Leadership, and the world of technology with education as Mayor of the City of Cudahy, I proudly fight and work for education, health, jobs, city infrastructure upgrades, and economic development. I also am the Director of IT Customer Support for the Los Angeles Unified School District. I have already enacted a new policy aimed at preventing young people from accessing tobacco. I remain committed to a healthier Cudahy and will continue pursuing policies that protect residents. My goal is to raise $3000 this year toward the Lung Association's Critical Mission. AND, there is a donor who will match whatever you donate toward the entire campaign up to 45K. Each dollar will really make a difference. I strive to be an innovative leader who sees endless possibilities and solutions for the employees and students of Los Angeles. A graduate of California State University, Los Angeles, I've earned my bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems. I lead coach with Educare Foundation and has been a coordinator for the LAUSD CyberPatriot program for the past seven years they have won three National Championships. I was a part of the Inaugural group Turquoise Ambassadors in 2019. We had no idea then that our collective commitment to lung health would be even more critical come Spring of 2020 when COVID-19 hit our Los Angeles community. Things are beginning to look hopeful in Los Angeles regarding the pandemic, but there is still much work to do. I continue to be committed to the Lung Association cause of lung health for including the fight against COVID-19 and advocating for healthier air, especially for communities of color. Please donate what you can, every dollar helps. AGAIN, we have a donor who will match whatever you donate toward the entire campaign up to 45K. Each dollar will make twice the difference. Finally, please share my page on your social media! Awareness is equally important.

Trusted Champion of Lung Health. Harold Wimmer, CEO of the American Lung Association, was invited to participate in the President’s Vaccine Initiative with other prominent public health organizations. The Surgeon General, who heads the task force, convened key influencers in the public health arena to achieve the President’s goal for 70% of the U.S. adult population to be vaccinated by July 4th.
We have been asked to serve as either an advisor or member of several different task forces headed up by CDC, the President’s Administration, HHS, NIH, or APHA due to the work we have been doing through our COVID 19 Action Initiative.
