ears of witnessing the immense struggle and pain associated with Multiple Sclerosis (MS), we decided to band together to make an impact and created Stomp Out MS (Multiple Scerlosis), Inc. We watched helplessly for years as our loved one battled the symptoms of the disease, losing the ability to walk, dance, drive, work, and lead a healthy life. Multiple Sclerosis is an autoimmune disease that affects the central nervous system. In the United States alone, approximately 200 new cases of MS are diagnosed every week.  We know that this is a long battle for anyone who suffers from MS, but our hope is to help as many people as we can on their journey to stop the disease. 

The mission of Stomp Out MS, Inc. is to educate, encourage and empower individuals diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and offer assistance to their families. Stomp Out MS, Inc. is also dedicated to educating the public about misconceptions surrounding the disease. Stomp Out MS, Inc. will also offer financial assistance for individuals seeking treatment of Multiple Sclerosis while striving to help find a cure for this debilitating disease.  

Your donation could be life-changing for someone like Shavonne Thurman who has been suffering from the disease and dealing with the costs of medical care and coverage. Sadly, in America, the long-term care costs for MS are not covered by insurance. 

Shavonne is battling this unpredictable disease and needs your help. Shavonne and her family face numerous costs associated with the treatment of MS. While there is currently no cure for MS, Shavonne is eligible for a medical procedure that can stop the progression of MS in her body and may help her walk again. She has been raising money to get the procedure for over 4 years. Stomp Out MS, Inc (SOMSI), along with your financial donations can help Shavonne get this necessary procedure. Shavonne has scheduled this surgery 6 times but has been unable to get all the money needed to pay for the surgery and travel costs, which total over $50,000. As of March 2021, Shavonne is short of her goal and SOMSI wants to help her reach her goal so she can have the surgery and help us educate others on the disease and treatment options.  

Shavonne has battled MS for the past 21 years.

 Despite dealing with a wide variety of symptoms, including the ability to walk normally, Shavonne manages to keep her spirits high and do so with a smile. 

Donate to Get Shavonne the Procedure She Needs 

The cost of care for someone with MS is skyrocketing. The drugs alone can cost from $10k -$30k per month, depending on the drug regiment. Other costs include caregivers, nurses aids, therapists, doctors, and specialists.  Shavonne needs costly tools like a wheelchair, hygiene needs, wide-grip utensils & pens, reachers, shower bench/chair, grab bars, walkers, cane, crutches, detachable showerhead to function daily. Travel to and from appointments and therapy are also costs associated with the treatment of the disease. 

Shavonne suffers from nerve pain, headaches, fatigue, spasticity in her legs, bladder & bowel issues, balance issues, weakness in legs, brain fog, ongoing numbness in fingers & toes, and extreme coldness. Shavonne has broken bones because of the disease and has many scars due to loss of sensation throughout the body. 

To date, we have raised  $17,500 through various fundraisers but it is not enough. We still need your help.
