ARTBAR, like so many non-profits, had our fundraising stall during Covid. We are struggling to get our vet bill paid down because of it. We like to rescue the sick, injured, and elderly dogs (and sometimes cats) in our rural corner of West Virginia and get them the vet care they need. Surgeries, dentals, whatever they need. Of course this gets to be expensive, but we believe their lives are worth it.
We were humming along nicely on paying vet bills in time with intake of animals, but now we're a few months behind because of Covid and have an outstanding bill to pay at one vet that is over $50,000. Thankfully, the vet has given us a generous discount and is patiently waiting as we pay them in little bits as often as we can. But we do things like orthopedic surgeries which cost thousands of dollars per dog, so it adds up.
We've never operated in the red before. Our rescue has always been very successful at keeping pace with donations vs expenses. Can you help us catch back up so we can operate normally again? Most of our intake has been shut down until we can get this bill paid off. We're turning away dogs daily now because of this debt.
Please subscribe to our newsletter for updates. It comes out once a week via email.
We believe in transparency and our supporters seem to appreciate that. There's a breakdown of expense per dog and which dogs' bills have been paid vs what is outstanding at this vet on our website at
