Hello to my friends and family! I hope that this communication finds you well and enjoying a safe, healthy and hope-filled beginning of 2023! As many of you are aware, I have been a steadfast friend of Easterseals Eastern PA for over 45 years. I’d like to share a little bit about my long relationship with Easterseals. I actually first encountered Easterseals as a 14 year old camp volunteer at its Philadelphia summer camp. I immediately fell in love with that kind of work and decided to become a physical therapist. After graduating from Temple University, I worked for Easterseals right here in Berks County from 1976 through the mid-90’s. I have been an active member of the Board for the past 10+ years. I actually also recently had the pleasure to mentor the lead physical therapist currently working at Easterseals in Berks to revise and publish a chapter that I had written in a nationally known textbook on Pediatric Physical Therapy. Our staff are truly talented, compassionate and knowledgeable in their work! Our Mission says loud and clear how we aspire to make a difference in the lives of children and young adults and their families challenged with a disability to have a meaningful life: Easterseals Eastern Pennsylvania creates life-changing solutions for individuals with disabilities and their families in their community by increasing independence, maximizing opportunities, minimizing barriers and enhancing quality of life. I hope that you will find it in your heart to contribute to our campaign so that we can continue to meet our Mission and impact the lives of children and young adults in Eastern PA. With your help and support, we can! Thank you. Blessings to you and yours. Dolores

Harrison is a bright and friendly child diagnosed with autism. His relationship with Easterseals began through the Early Intervention program. Both of his parents work in the education field and they wanted to make sure Harrison would be prepared for the demands of school. So just prior to the start of kindergarten, they initiated outpatient services for both speech-language and occupational therapy.
