A college-bound STEM Mentorship program - Your gift invests in young innovators with a thirst for knowledge, providing them with laptops, stipends, and mentorship resources with tech partnerships in the greater Newark area.
The Boys and Girls Club of Newark provides a robust STEM education through a structured three-tier model: Foundations, Building, and Knowledge. In Foundations, students grasp fundamental STEM concepts and critical thinking skills while engaging in innovative projects. Moving to Building, they apply these skills independently, teach peers, and participate in advanced workshops and milestone events. Finally, in Knowledge, the emphasis is on expanding and applying STEM knowledge to everyday learning and future career paths.
Programs Under STEM Sprouts:
- Robotics: Members explore robotics, electronics, circuitry, and engineering, applying hands-on skills to real-world problem-solving. Funds cover hardware, safety equipment, and competition expenses.
- Upward Creative Studio: Students delve into digital arts and creativity, utilizing premier technology for podcasting, animation, graphic design, and more. Funding supports equipment acquisition.
- STEM Mentorship: A training program prepares interested teens for STEM careers or college paths, providing resources for mentorship and professional development.
