Citrus Season 2024
Unite with Iskashitaa Refugee Network to build community with UN Refugees while eliminating surplus food waste and providing fresh locally harvested citrus and produce to families in need.
Since 2003, IRN has been a bridge between refugees and the Tucson community. We've rescued over 1 million pounds of food from going to waste, empowering refugees to become self-sufficient and engaged members of society.
Empowering Refugees: We provide refugees with meaningful resources, education, and opportunities to connect with the community.
Fighting Food Waste: We harvest surplus citrus and produce from backyards, schoolyards, community common areas, local farms and gardens, sharing this nutritious food for famlilies in need.
Building Community: We foster a vibrant and inclusive community where refugees and Arizonans can learn, grow, and thrive together.
- Harvesting: Join us as we rescue surplus citrus and produce from going to waste
- Refugee Garden Art Program (RGAP): Connect with refugees through gardening, art, and cultural exchange.
- Food Preservation: Learn how to preserve harvested citrus and produce into delicious food products.
- Other way to donate: Donate your surplus fruit or other goods
