In Memory of Shirin Chase
With profound sorrow, we announce the passing of Shirin Chase, beloved mother of our Club leader, Nicole Chase. Shirin peacefully departed this life on July 30, 2024, at the age of 79.
Shirin's vibrant life was a testament to love and commitment and being of service. From meeting the love of her life, LeRoy Chase Jr., during high school to raising three remarkable daughters, Shirin created a nurturing and supportive environment for her family. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Social Welfare, and a Master of Science in Educational Psychology. She went on to make a lasting impact as a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist at the Club, and served as a Clinical Supervisor for the Foster Family Agency at Hathaway/Sycamores Child and Family Services, guiding and supporting countless families and employees.
Shirin's dedication extended far beyond her professional life. She was appointed as a Los Angeles County Probation Commissioner, and was an active member of her community. Her compassion and commitment to service touched many lives.
Since 1967, the Chase Family have devoted themselves to the growth of the community and to the growth of the Boys & Girls Club of San Fernando Valley. Over the years, this Club has become a beacon of hope and opportunity for thousands of children, offering them a space to learn, grow, and thrive. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Boys & Girls Club of San Fernando Valley, where Shirin's legacy of helping others will continue.
Thank you for your support and for helping us to honor Shirin.
