💜 Our Story: 10 Years of Leadership, Legacy & Impact

For 10 years, the Sickle Cell Community Consortium has been building a legacy of leadership and impact across the sickle cell community. What began as a small group of patients and caregivers has grown into a powerful global movement that keeps education, advocacy, and support alive year-round.

We are a family of warriors, caregivers, and advocates committed to one promise: “Nothing for us, without us.” Through programs like the Leadership Summit, Warriors Convention, Warrior University, and Caregiver initiatives, we provide safe spaces where the patient voice leads the conversation. Together, we turn lived experience into action, awareness, and change.

Affectionately known as Warrior CON, our annual Warriors Convention welcomed over 600 registered attendees last year and it continues to grow each year. At the convention, we have something for everyone. We are proud to be the only national organization that creates a space for the next generation, welcoming participants from ages 3 years old to 99+. Families, advocates, and warriors of every age find their place, their people, and their purpose.

We have also launched the Newly Diagnosed Initiative, designed to ensure that families facing a new sickle cell diagnosis know they have a tribe and village standing behind them. This community-centered approach helps families feel supported, informed, and empowered from day one.
