Our Story

The LovePup Foundation believes that all dogs deserve the best possible home. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit dog rescue organization, we help stray, abandoned & owner surrendered dogs find just that.

The LovePup Foundation rescues dogs in need while also being a resource for the greater animal welfare community. With the help of his wife and three sons, founder and radio personality Johnjay Van Es transformed his home into a full-service dog rescue center for stray, abandoned and owner surrendered dogs. Every rescued dog receives complete medical care, love and structure before being placed in an adoptive forever home. The foundation also provides resources to the community for shelter prevention.

This Giving Tusday, we need your help! We are building our first brick and mortar shelter so we can serve more dogs in need. As we enter the final construction phase for our new shelter, we ask that you consider making a donation that will help ensure we are able to help rescue, treat and adopt out more dogs like the ones you'll see below. Please take a moment to read about a few of the dogs #LovePup has saved this year:

Gus (now Diego) was brutally attacked as a puppy, which resulted in him losing an eye and suffering a broken jaw. #LovePup saw him through his surgery and recovery, making sure that he received all of the medical attention he needed while also providing love and proper socialization. He has been adopted by an amazing couple who continues to look after his needs and provides him with a safe, happy & loving home!

Chad (now Frank) was on the E-list @ MCACC. He had a rough go at the shelter and hadn't reacted well with other dogs in a stressful environment. #LovePup pulled him within an hour of when he was due to be euthanized. With the help of our amazing partners at DPetHotels, we rescued, rehabilitated and adopted Chad out to an incredible couple. He is now living his best life after adoption!

$15 One-Time

A $15 donation buys a martingale collar that provides safety for a dog while staying at the shelter as well as during walks and Meet & Greets with potential adopters.

$25 One-Time

A $25 Donation covers the cost of a microchip which ensures a lost dog is reunited with their family and prevents owned pets from entering the shelter system.

$50 One-Time

A $50 Donation provides puppy food for a litter of puppies and their mom for a week.

$75 One-Time

A $75 Donation covers toys and/or bones for 10 dogs to enjoy as enrichment during their stay at the shelter.

$100 One-Time

A $100 Donation covers the initial veterinary exam and the core vaccines that are required for each dog brought into the foundations care.

$150 One-Time

A $150 Donation helps cover the spay and/or neuter of a dog to prevent future homeless pets and other longterm complications of a dog remaining intact.
