Feeding Me While Serving You Project 2024 Launch
It helps to feed 50 people per week for 6 months.
Here at Feeding Me While Serving You Project, we are driven to do our part in making the world a better place. Since May 2022, we have taken part in an impactful initiative of feeding people on the streets who are struggling with food insecurities, who are unhoused, and who are transitioning to a permanent place of residency. I know this is empowering to individuals and communities. We strive to build productive relationships and make a positive impact with all of our pursuits. Are you ready to join us to create real transformation in the lives of so many?
Feeding Me While Serving You Project (FMWSYP) was founded with a heart full of love for people who are without the stability of home and/those who are lacking in other basic needs in a country full of opportunities. I realize that not everyone knows how to access these opportunities. So, while giving them a home-cooked meal, we provide them with conversations about and literature on resources they can seek to improve their quality of life. One day, I decided I was going to cook meals at my home and take them to those in need. I loaded up my car and just drove. As I came upon folks who appeared to be unhoused, I stopped to offer them plates. Their reactions were priceless, and I was amazed at how fast the dinners went. I knew that this could not be the last time, so I made it a weekly outing. While I was serving others, I was actually feeding my own soul. I was getting filled up with self-satisfaction, overwhelming joy, and peace of mind knowing that I was doing good in my neighborhood. After that first trip, I decided to assemble a crew to do this on a weekly basis. Before my personal funding and donations from my crew ran out, we fed folks from May 2022 through September 2022 for a total of 845 plates served. The statistics do not lie.
According to The Columbus Dispatch, there are 2,300 people in Columbus who are unhoused, and that number does not include people (young and old) who go from house to house seeking food, clothing, and shelter. If left unchecked, the city will have more cardboard housing developments and tent cities than it would want the world to see. Knowing that I must continue this heartstring initiative, in 2023, I enlisted the services of a small business consultant to set up my tax-exempt nonprofit organization.
Now, I would like the financial assistance of funders, donors, and sponsors to assist me to continue to serve this population of our community. FMWSYP will serve a minimum of 50 people per week at a random pop-up location. Our budget for six months is $13,566.90. We would like your support. Please see the attached sponsorship levels to determine your level of commitment, and I thank you in advance for whatever you decide to do. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call me at (220) 228-9946.
