Extending our Goal! Hitting our first milestone of $5K in just a few hours was such a success, we decided to increase our goal to $15,000 in order to help provide necessary resources to additional communities in need of menstrual products.

Project Period is an annual initiative providing essential menstrual products to vulnerable populations and focused on creating a positive environment throughout under resourced communities.

Period Poverty refers to the prevalent phenomena of being unable to afford products such as pads, tampons, or liners to manage menstrual bleeding. Right now, only 4 states require schools to provide FREE menstrual products for students from 6th-12th grade.

Nearly 1 in 5 American girls have missed school due to lack of period protection. 

Today, menstrual products are ineligible for coverage under food stamps and SNAP benefits (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program), leaving many families forced to use products like rags, paper towels, and reused pads to support menstrual cycles. 

Addressing period poverty as a public health crisis helps destigmatize this crisis, as many associate mensuration with uncleanliness rather than a normal bodily response.
