Fall Campaign
We have a donor who is matching up to $5,000! If you give your donation will be doubled!
Have you seen a healthy kitten, as he experiences the world around him? Everything is so new and exciting! Have you watched a senior cat, content in her comfy bed, secure in her surroundings? Have you ever earned the trust of a tom cat who has been out on the streets slowly learn to trust or watched how incredibly patient a new mama cat is with her kittens when she feels safe?
These are the moments we strive for and work hard to provide for the homeless cats in our program. The sick kittens rescued from under a shrub, the cat abandoned when his owner died and the family threw him outside, the cat confused and scared after being surrendered due to a crisis or the mom cat with newborns desperately trying to provide for them when she is starving herself.
Thanks to your generosity, in 2022 we have provided shelter, medical care, food and love for more than 1,000 cats and kittens. We have taken in 722 cats and kittens and have found loving homes for 500 so far this year. All of these cats have been vaccinated, spayed/neutered, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped and received any necessary medical care and all of this was possible because of you.
While some cats just need basic care, some cats need more specialized help. CRAN never turns away a cat due to its medical needs. Thanks to our donors, we have been able to provide care to cats with specialized and complex medical needs like Valor, who was found on the side of the road unable to walk due to tendon contractions in his front legs, Candyland who needed her eye removed due to cancer, Lemonade who had spina bifida and needed a specialized surgery to stop the fluid leaking from her spine, West who beat Feline Infectious Peritonitis with a revolutionary treatment and Phoenix who needed a repair for a pericardial peritoneal diaphragmatic hernia. We can only help these cats because of you.
In addition to the cats in our program, we have spayed/neutered and vaccinated 152 community cats through our Trap-Neuter-Return program. We have also treated 11 cats in our ringworm program (did you know some shelters euthanize for this fungus?)
We receive multiple requests for help daily have received 752 requests to date for help this year. While we aren’t always able to take in every cat, our surrender team provides valuable resources and assistance to all who contact us. There is no better feeling than hearing that a cat was able to stay with it’s family with a little extra help or information.
We are an all-volunteer, foster-based rescue and receive no government funding. We rely on our donors, volunteers and partners to do our life-saving work.
We hope to raise $35,000 in our annual appeal to help us continue to provide crucial help to cats in need. With your help, we hope to be able to help to help another 700 cats in 2023 and to continue to be able to provide the specialized care those with special needs require.
Thank you! We could not help cats without you.
