Everyone can use motivation. As a proud PLUS ME Motivational March volunteer storyteller, I'd like to invite you to sponsor me and support a cause that I believe in; motivating our youth.
In 2015, PLUS ME created Motivational March, where the organization motivates students every school day of the month. PLUS ME recruits, trains and coordinates 100 volunteers like me, to share their motivational stories with youth in Los Angeles. The volunteers reflect, write and share their stories of struggles, accomplishments, resilience and motivation all month. Students are able to listen to the stories from relatable role model volunteers and experience the sense of connection, reflection and motivation that storytelling brings. At a time when depression and anxiety plague our youth, the message of motivation is especially important.
Everyone has a story that matters. PLUS ME Project is a nonprofit organization in Los Angeles that activates the art of personal storytelling to build confidence in youth as they pursue their college, career, and life goals. In addition to bringing volunteer guest speakers into classroom, they also help students build & share their own personal narratives. Through self-reflection and journaling, PLUS ME helps youth realize they have a story that matters & guide them in building the foundation for their college personal statements or job interviews.
Your donation will help build confidence in youth in LA.
Since 2013, PLUS ME has impacted over 100,000 students & looks forward to bringing their storytelling resources to even more students this school year.
During my training with PLUS ME, I received a My Story Matters Journal (a 100-page personal narrative guide) that helped me build my story. Your donation will help ensure PLUS ME provides these journals & experiences to more high school students this year as they help them build their stories for their college personal statements.
