Your gift of $125 will provide training supplies for one intern for the duration of the 8-week program.

Your gift of $250 will give Touch A Heart the opportunity to take our interns on a field trip as part of their training.

Your gift of $500 will underwrite an inspiring aspect of our curriculum, such as bringing in a guest chef to provide personalized training and professional development for our interns.

Your gift of $1,000 will allow Touch a Heart to provide legal support for one intern; it underwrites the time required to communicate with attorneys and compile a binder of evidence demonstrating each interns' transformation to share with the Judge.

Your gift of $2,500 allows us to produce a heartfelt testimony video on behalf of an intern facing sentencing, which will give the Judge personal insight about the intern’s goals, life experience, growth, and redemption.

Touch A Heart provides vocational training to the formerly incarcerated in a healing and nurturing environment. Our work empowers them to overcome extensive barriers to employment, helping them to build a sustainable life. Touch A Heart envisions a world where people recognize their true value and realize their full potential. Through our transformative work, communities in Hawaii will be restored and rebuilt through the redemptive impact of those formerly incarcerated. 

The people we serve all face immense barriers to employment, including mental health concerns, addiction, legal restrictions based on their history of incarceration, and probation regulations. They are in need of a safe, judgment-free, and supportive environment as they rebuild their lives. Touch a Heart works to first recruit, train, and graduate this population from our eight-week internship. Thereafter, we move them into our apprenticeship program where we can spend more time developing in-depth social, emotional, job, and life skills. Interns are part of our employment social enterprise team, helping to produce Kupuna & Family Meals and Baker's Heart products. This model gives them the opportunity to give back to the community in a meaningful way.

As our community began emerging from the pandemic and our economy moved toward recovery, we found ourselves dealing with supply chain issues and rising inflation. Yet all of us at Touch A Heart have never felt more confident in our employment social enterprises, foodservice internship and apprenticeship programs, and overall mission—and that's because of your unwavering dedication and support.
