Help us offer affordable videography training to youth and connect artists to virtual audiences!

Livestreaming is not going away with the return of in-person performances, nor should it! DSDT and Studio 210 spent countless hours through the pandemic researching, fundraising, and implementing equipment and personnel to make Studio 210 into a livestreaming space, and we have successfully livestreamed two events this Spring! Thanks to the generosity of numerous individual donors and the San Francisco Arts Reopening Fund, Studio 210 is now outfitted with two professional cameras, a livestream switcher (which allows us to seamlessly transition between the camera images), and many adapters and cables that make it all work! Check out what one dance critic had to say about our livestream events:

“Friday’s online offering happened in real time, as opposed to a taped version after the fact. And it went off without a hitch. The tech was without flaw, it wasn’t at all shaky, never cut out and the volume was right on point. This was a real triumph for DSDT. While many companies have been able to accomplish this hybrid format since March of 2020, it’s of note that others have not managed to pivot and shift in this way, including larger companies and presenters with more resources and greater technical capabilities.” – Heather Desaulniers for Critical Dance

Performances from Studio 210 can now reach unlimited local, national, and international audiences due to these advances, and we want to share these tools and resources with the artists that need them most. Most self-producing artists don’t have the budget to access these new tools of connection, nor do they have the resources or time to manage this additional element of production. Help us create access for artists by raising $10,000 to offer subsidized livestreaming production rentals and training opportunities for interested artists and youth.

What will donations be used for?
  • Cultivate the next generation of creative professionals! Help us provide training opportunities for emerging artists and youth. Dance documentation and livestreaming are skills for the future! With the higher demand for digital and livestreamed content, we’re preparing local artists and youth ages 16 - 24 to enter the creative workforce with relevant and highly-sought skills. Help us provide development through hands-on workshops, training events, and job shadowing. Donations will go towards producing these events and compensating the professional instructors.
  • Produce a livestream event! Contribute to subsidize livestream rentals for 5 artists. Livestreaming a performance is not an affordable venture. In addition to live production costs, livestreaming requires specialized equipment, knowledge, and additional personnel (camera operator, livestream manager, livestream editor, etc), and additional time. The full rate of hosting a performance + livestreaming from Studio 210 is $2000 - $5000 per event, which is out of reach for most independent artists and small organizations. Donations will go towards offering subsidized livestreaming packages to artists and small organizations at a discounted rate of $500 -$800.
How much money are we raising?

We're aiming to raise $10,000 by June 30th for the next stage Another Way of Looking, which would allow us to offer subsidized livestream event rentals to 5 artists and provide multiple training opportunities to developing videographers.
