Boys & Girls Clubs of Acadiana Inc.

For 52 years now, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Acadiana has welcomed thousands of young people into our Clubs with the goal of providing them with safety, support, and opportunity. In this new chapter, we cannot be limited by thinking that the value of our Clubs exists only in a building or physical space; our impact has always extended far beyond walls.

During the pandemic and closure of our five physical sites in Lafayette, Abbeville, New Iberia, and Opelousas, the BGC Acadiana team continued serving our kids and families. We reached out to our Club families to understand their needs, connect them with needed resources, and create a Club experience that they could access from home. When it was safe to do so, we opened our doors with the safety of our kids and staff in mind. We served 250 kids during our summer program, focusing on programs that combat learning loss, exercise and fun! Our Fall program opened on September 7th and has been a safe place for kids to go after school where they have access to computers, receive homework help, enjoy meals and interact with positive adult role models. 

The world is changing and organizations like the Boys & Girls Clubs of Acadiana are adapting to meet the needs of children and families in our community. Our mission ‘To enable all young people, especially those who need us most …’ has never been more clear! For 52 years, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Acadiana as been a safe place for children to dream and learn, fill their bellies and connect with positive mentors….and we will continue to be there for the kids and families who need us each day, doing Whatever It Takes!
