Honor Patricia Mancini
One of our artist members, Patricia Mancini, passed away 2 weeks ago. She was an avid artist, gardener, educator, biologist and friend. If you've ever enjoyed sitting on the bench out front, Patricia's husband Jim made that for us a couple of years ago so people could comfortably spend time with one another outside. In order to honor Patricia's memory, some of her friends at the gallery wanted to put together a memorial fund for her benefiting the newly created Garden Committee, who are working very hard on creating an outdoor gallery and garden in our yard for all members and visitors to enjoy. Once the Garden Space is complete we plan to have a permanent memorial plaque and/or art object there to honor Patricia's forever place in our community.
Here are some notes from Sandi Lovitz in memory of Patricia: My dear dear friend Patricia Mancini is at peace now.. I know the emptiness and numbness that I now feel will pass in time and only the wonderful memories of our friendship will bring a peaceful smile to my face . I am blessed to have been her friend. Her friendship was a gift. She was kind beyond words, generous beyond words, compassionate beyond words, brilliant beyond words. She loved animals, music, gardening and art. She always put others before herself. She was a loving wife to Jim and the very proud Mother of Kate. I am trying to accept the fact that there are no answers and will continue to smile every day when I think of her and all of the wonderful memories we shared. I will go in my studio and paint while I think of the joy she brought me. That is what she would want me to do.
