Build ABBA's New Migrant Shelter: The Cultural Center for Human Rights
Help us raise $500,000 to support the construction of the The Albergue ABBA Cultural Center for Human Rights.
The Latin American Relief Fund (LARF) is pleased to announce the official launch of its capital campaign to help fund the construction of Albergue ABBA's new long-term migrant shelter: El Centro Cultural de Derechos Humanos / The Cultural Center for Human Rights (CCHR).
Right now, displaced people in Mexico need more than temporary relief. They need safety, dignity, and a place to begin again.
A generous donor has committed to match every dollar given to the ABBA House/CCHR Campaign Fund up to $50,000.
Your gift today will help build a new shelter community for migrants, refugees, deportees, and internally displaced people in Mexico — and it will go twice as far.
$37,000 has already been raised toward LARF’s $500,000 goal.
The Latin American Relief Fund exists to respond to the urgent humanitarian needs of migrants, refugees, returning deportees and internally displaced people by supporting trusted, mission-aligned partners that protect vulnerable people and restore hope.
That is why LARF supports ABBA House, a migrant shelter in Celaya, Mexico, serving people forced to leave everything behind in search of safety and a future.
Now, LARF is helping raise funds for ABBA House’s next chapter: a larger shelter community, the Cultural Center for Human Rights, that will provide refuge, healing, and long-term support for people rebuilding their lives.
Through the ABBA House/CCHR Campaign Fund, your donation will help ABBA House build a new, larger shelter community that will serve up to 200 people—or more if needed.
The Cultural Center for Human Rights will be dedicated to providing a safe, supportive refuge for migrants, refugees, deportees, and internally displaced people seeking to re-establish their lives in Mexico, with dignity and respect for their basic human rights. Your generous donation will help fund:
- An infirmary to meet critical medical needs.
- A rehab gym for amputees to rebuild strength.
- Legal assistance for migrants and refugees seeking legal status in Mexico.
- Art studios and classes to help people heal trauma through creative expression.
- Educational and job training programs to empower futures.
- Safe, inclusive housing for migrant amputees, families, and LGBTQ+ individuals.
Construction has already begun. Now the next phase depends on donor support.
Because of the matching challenge, your gift today can do twice as much.
- $100 provides essential support for people arriving in crisis
- $250 helps create safe, welcoming space for displaced individuals and families
- $500 helps expand care, protection, and recovery services
- $1,500 helps fund critical construction for the shelter’s next phase
Your gift to the ABBA House/CCHR Campaign Fund will be doubled through June — and will help build a safe place where vulnerable people can begin again.

$250 helps create safe, welcoming space for individuals and families rebuilding their lives
