Help Migrant Amputees on GIVING TUESDAY!
We have a $10,000 matching grant and WE NEED YOUR HELP to match it dollar-for-dollar in order to continue providing medical, psychological, and rehabilitation support for amputees at ABBA House. Please include LARF in your giving plan this Nov. 30th!
Help ABBA House Keep the Doors Open and the Lights On!
Pastor Ignacio, the director of Albergue ABBA, faces a huge challenge every day: how to feed and house the growing numbers of people arriving at the shelter each night? How to get the medical, psychological and rehabilitative care for the four or five migrant amputees the Mexican government, UNHCR and the Celaya Red Cross are now sending their way each month? In addition to more women and children arriving in the latest caravans, including many from Haiti, the number of migrants arriving at ABBA House who have become disabled along the migrant route has tripled this year. They often end up staying for months, or even years.
We, at the Latin American Relief Fund, are determined to raise $20,000 before the end of the year to keep the doors open and the lights on for all migrants and refugees arriving at ABBA House. We're also currently helping purchase new gym equipment for the amputees' rehabilitation and funding an education program for the many migrants at ABBA with little or no formal education.
But we can't do this without YOU. Your generosity makes a big difference in the lives of migrants in transit and migrant amputees in need of medical care, psychological help and rehabilitation. We and the staff at ABBA House are SO grateful for your help and want you to know that 95% of every dollar donated goes directly to helping the migrants and all donations are tax-deductible in the US.
A big GRACIAS in advance!
