Project Smile is an innovative initiative aimed at raising awareness and financial support for individuals with severe dental needs and who are affected by Sickle Cell Disease (SCD).

Imagine living every day with a disease that causes unimaginable pain, and then losing your teeth because of it.
That’s the reality for many adults living with sickle cell disease.
These warriors are battling not only a lifelong illness, but also dental complications that leave them unable to eat, speak, or smile without shame. Insurance doesn’t cover the care they need. Dentists often turn them away. And the emotional toll is just as devastating as the physical one.
Project Smile is changing that.
We’re a national initiative dedicated to restoring confidence, dignity, and SMILES to sickle cell warriors through dental care, advocacy, and awareness.
🦷 Why oral health?
Because for sickle cell patients, it’s more than cavities. Years of illness, harsh medications, bias in healthcare, and lack of insurance access often result in total tooth loss, even in their 20s and 30s.
📊 We’ve already begun surveying the community and collected over 100 powerful responses from patients and caregivers, all saying the same thing:
“We need help. We need dental care. We need to feel human again.”

- Free dental treatment for sickle cell warriors
- Travel support for patients needing care
- Oral health care kits
- Awareness campaigns that educate and fight stigma
- A documentary and PSA to shine a national spotlight on this issue
