NAVIGATING OUT OF THE PANDEMIC

Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco intends to embrace all the joy, excitement, and pure fun that should be a part of childhood. Coming out of the pandemic, kids need an opportunity to simply be kids. To laugh and to engage with the world without fear … to be optimistic that the plans they set today may actually come to be tomorrow.

PROGRAMATIC PRIORITIES

We are also expanding our commitment to education and mental health services. These programs combine academic support with extracurricular activities, leadership development, and mentorship to produce the best outcomes for our members. Now, these wraparound services are even more crucial as we work to help youth recover from the learning loss and socioemotional challenges they have faced during this pandemic.

You will also see us focus on youth empowerment, job readiness, financial literacy, sports, fitness, and play. We recognize that each of these areas has a role to play in our members’ recovery from this difficult time and overall success. Read more about the impact your gifts can have here.

A Winning Approach to Summer: Lead With Fun Summer is always a great opportunity for youth to unwind and simply be kids. Clearly, young people have been through way too much over the last two and a half years, and in response, Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco is determined to make this summer a time of joy for all Club members! How BGCSF is Recreating the College Tour Experience As an organization, we make it a priority to always meet our kids where they are. This year, we evolved our spring break college tour to do exactly that. After two tough years of experiencing the pandemic as a teen, we knew that back-to-back campus tours were not going to serve our youth in the best way possible. We decided that — in addition to a traditional college tour — we would transform Camp Mendocino into a college campus. Read more here.
